KPV is a tripeptide — three amino acids: lysine, proline, and valine. It is derived from alpha-melanocyte stimulating hormone. And it is one of the most potent anti-inflammatory signaling molecules currently being studied in the peptide space.

Small does not mean simple. A tripeptide is three pieces. The biological impact of those three pieces working together is disproportionate to their size.

What KPV is known to do

Anti-inflammatory signaling. KPV inhibits pro-inflammatory pathways, specifically NF-κB — a primary regulator of the inflammatory response. In plain terms: it turns down the volume on the body's inflammation signal.

Gut health applications. KPV has been studied in the context of inflammatory bowel conditions. The gut has a particularly dense concentration of the receptors KPV acts on, making it a targeted option for gut-related inflammation.

Wound healing. The anti-inflammatory properties combined with cellular signaling effects have made KPV of interest in wound healing contexts.

Systemic inflammation is increasingly understood as the root driver of aging, metabolic dysfunction, and a range of chronic conditions. A compound that addresses inflammatory signaling at the cellular level is not a fringe idea. It is the direction the science is moving.
